For ME It all started when…

I was born. From a young age my parents always encouraged me to educate myself. Not only in the traditional sense; being a child of parents who both have Master’s degrees, this was a non-negotiable. But also educate myself in other aspects of life, like learning leadership or people skills. I began to read mindset books like “The Magic of Thinking Big”, “Whale Done”, “The Ant and the Elephant” among many others. These books, and my parents, helped shape me into the man that I am today.

Serving without expectation is one of the lessons that my parents passed on to me at an early stage in my life. Another being; that the true definition of success is not how much money or status that you accumulate but rather how many people are better off because you lived.

Helping others has always been something that comes naturally for me. In high school I volunteered as a first aid responder; often times spending upwards of 10 hours a day in the back of an ambulance. With school, extra-curricular activates, and other commitments, it would have been easy for me to choose to relax at home during my limited free time but instead, I chose to work towards providing assistance to those in need.

Having immigrated from India with only 300 dollars in their pockets, my parents epitomized the definition of hard work and the pursuit of the American dream. Although both of them were highly educated, with Master’s degrees, they were always looking to branch out.

Today, the average U.S. worker will have 7+ jobs in his or her lifetime. The gap between what employers expect to pay and what graduates expect to earn is widening. Student debt is at an all-time high, over $1.2 trillion. Virtually everybody is looking for a way to diversify their income so that they don't "put all their eggs in one basket."

Fortunately for my parents, and myself, they met our mentors. After earning their time and mentorship, my parents were truly able to understand what it means to make an impact, develop financial independence and most importantly…how to leave a legacy of helping others.

I've truly realized the impact of entrepreneurship and mentorship from my parents’ example and I believe it's my duty to share the teachings I was blessed with.
