The power of intuition

Prayer is you talking to God and an Intuition is God Talking to you – Wayne Dyer

I have been studying the law of attraction and power of our intuition for years now. My study started after I read Think and Grow Rich and Master Keys to riches by Napoleon Hill. Based on my personal experience, I have seen that the problem with the majority of people these days is that they have lost touch with their own intuition or gut feeling. In my humble opinion, the reason for this can be their busy life or just listening to everyone and anyone, trying to follow what everyone is doing and copy them, failure to quiet our own mind. It’s called herd mentality. Very few people have been able to quiet their minds by blocking off the outside noise. We are human beings and we have our own uniqueness. We are not copy cats. Something which is good or bad for someone else might not be the same for us. Most of people miss out on great opportunities because they lack the knowledge of what they want in life and they try to seek opinions from everyone. They have a certain presumption in their mind that an opportunity will be of a certain type or in a certain form. But in the real-world, opportunity presents itself in a disguise. Most of the time in my life, it came to me as a problem. Like a walnut, wrapped in a hard shell. Once we broke open the shell, we are able to enjoy the sweet nutty flavor of the walnut.

In the same manner, an opportunity will come as a disguise. Hence people who are praying for one must learn to quiet their mind from the opinion of others and listen to their own feelings and intuition.

This reminds me of a story that I had read when I was a child.

One old fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.

Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, "Jump in, I can save you."

The stranded fellow shouted back, "No, it's OK, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me."

So the rowboat went on.

Then a motorboat came by. "The fellow in the motorboat shouted, "Jump in, I can save you."

To this, the stranded man said, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the motorboat went on.

Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, "Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety."

To this, the stranded man again replied, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.

Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, "I had faith in you but you didn't save me, you let me drown. I don't understand why!"

To this God replied, "I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"

Meditation is a great way to quiet our minds so meditate if the need is to quiet the mind but learn to develop and trust your intuition. Live your life on your own terms and make important decisions based on your needs and gut feeling instead of depending on the opinions of others. Even if you are looking to seek guidance or have a mastermind alliance listen to someone who has already achieved what you want in your life. If anyone wants to be a successful doctor, Commonsense says, they must seek advice from a successful doctor and follow their guidance and not from a highschool dropout.

If you change the way you look at things the things you look at change. - Wayne Dyer
